Fabric, 100% cotton, 44" wide. Sold as a 35" panel. The Pan American Exposition was a World's Fair held in Buffalo, NY, for six months in 1901. Buffalo was selected (over Niagara Falls) because it was the eighth-largest city in the country, and had better rail connections. It's remembered because President McKinley was assassinated there in September. This fabric collection reflects the times in its floral motifs in darkblue on some, red on others. This panel includes 20 redwork portraits including: mother and child, two puppies, boy dressed as fireman, four flowers, boy and girl with arms around each other, Indian chief, buffalo, bird, girl with basket, Abraham Lincoln, two flowers, owl, running boy, George Washington, three cats, American flag with 13 stars, Buffalo Bill, good luck horseshoe, four rabbits, Pan American Exposition coin. 7034-1 |
